Good luck with the fund raising! I'm not sure what the rules are for using Kickstarter.com, but I've had several friends successfully fund projects using that site.

If not that, maybe there's a similar site that would be more geared towards your needs?

My initial thought is for your group to identify and set a goal for the fundraiser. Figure out how much you need and build from there. That way, you can determine what sort of capacity you need for a fundraiser.

If you decide to go the auction route, I'm game. I have a few things I've been meaning to throw on Craigslist or eBay, and I will be happy to donate the proceeds.
